How does fair dealing affect the way you do research and authorship?
The same thing also applies that I use in my teaching to my research. When I’m speaking to public audiences and trying to say, “I know that you’re not academics, I know that you’re not researchers, but here is the research I’m doing,” I use a lot of the same techniques. I’m using clips from videos, I’m using properly sourced and properly attributed images that I’ve found, even just on Google, and that really helps keep people’s attention, and it helps me share what I’m doing with a broader audience than just an academic audience through journal papers.
