How does fair dealing affect what you do at Queen's University?
Fair dealing enables me to share a huge variety of primary sources with my students. In particular, I take great delight in watching students interact, hands on, with the ancient texts that are often central to course content. Without fair dealing, they would be limited to secondary interpretations, or would have to go on a very time consuming and potentially expensive search. By working with the librarians, it is easy for me to set up my courses so that my students can readily access key sources. Fair dealing has helped me become a more effective teacher, and also given me reassurance that I am following the law!
